Moving back to my domain and blog change!

In the quest to find the blogging platform that I will use the most, I realized something about blogger that bummed me out. At first it seemed that blogger was the perfect fit for what I was doing until I realized that none of my links worked. To save a lot of technical mumbo jumbo, basically Google does not allow you to take your blog page and host it on your own domain. You can point your domain to Google and they will host the blog, but this does not allow for the creativity and file hosting that I need.

Therefore, starting today I am a wordpress user and have retaken old domain at www.lucasamartin.com

All of the posts are now there with links that work. I'll continue to keep this blog active as I have many other Google products but I will not update this after this point. It will be at the top of the site so hopefully folks take notice. I'll also update the RSS feed as well.

Fingers crossed this is the last move for a while!

Thanks for your understanding!

Luke

My amazing master's graduation evening from my wife

Normally this blog is used for music posts. However, my wife did something really cool tonight and instead of formatting an entire web page, I figure this is what blogs are made for.

Background:

I finished my master's degree in Information Technology a few weeks ago. We made a big deal for Angie when she finished hers, so she planned on returning the favor. For weeks she has kept me in suspense. I was convinced we were going to a fancy new restaurant or doing something we have never done. Her only hint to me was that this was something I had mentioned in passing.

Tonight:

I get home not knowing what to expect. She had steaks seasoned and ready, along with one of my favorite varietals of wine:

As I put the steaks on the grill, she drops these lovely beauties on me. Bacon-Wrapped Scallops!

So things have obviously started off to a wonderful pace. Here is my gorgeous plate complete with herb butter:

At this point I'm pretty happy. I truly have an amazing wife, and she cooks for me all of the time so I knew she had more in store. All she would tell me is that we needed to be done by 7 pm. I asked 100 questions, each of which she evaded like a pro. For all I know she is an active CIA agent. Next came dessert and my favorite: Cheesecake!

Ok this has got to stop, right? I mean what else could be forthcoming? It was about that time that I saw a minivan creep past the house. I mentioned it and she tried to play it off. Shortly after, I saw our friends who are professional massage therapists come up the walkway. I was pumped! I had told her a while ago that I would love to have a couple's massage.

She took the liberty to set it all up and surprise me on this special evening. One of the great things about our friends is that they run a service where they will come to your home. It is extremely convenient and practical.
Here we go, all set up in our dining room that has no table.

Here we are ready for a relaxing one-hour massage in our own home. Bliss!

This is how we ended off. I would like to thank my awesome wife for a very unexpected and special evening. It was definitely something I will never forget.
